4/5/2019

Our clients have often posed many questions regarding CCTV Systems and how it works. We have since compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help you have a better understanding of CCTV Systems.

What happens during power failure?
There will be no recording during a power failure. However, if you require recording even when there is a power failure, you can install an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) for the system to counter this issue.

What is the duration of recording?
Duration of recording is determined by a few factors that are image resolutions, FPS, Hard disk space and recording setting. For example, 4 cameras on a 2TB HDD will be able to record up to 3-5weeks if the system is set to record on motion recording at 12 FPS and 1080P resolution.

What is the camera’s area of coverage?
The area of coverage depends on the Lens size that you choose. For example, a 2.8mm lens will be able to give a wide coverage of 120 degree while a 12mm lens will give a narrow angle of 25 degree. Below is an image illustration of how different camera lens will affect its area of coverage. Also, if you are unsure of which lens to use, you can opt for a Vari-focal lens that can allow you to adjust the angle based on your needs.

What is the average lifespan of CCTV Cameras?
CCTV Cameras generally have a lifespan of 3-5 years. However, we would recommend customers to do an upgrading of the camera after 3 years. This is to ensure that the image quality and kept at pristine condition so it can better facilitate post event investigation.

What are the different modes available to view my CCTV Camera?
Users can view either locally via a plug-in monitor or choose to view it remotely via smart devices or PC. All our system supports the use of iOS and Andriod operating systems.

Can the camera operate in low light environment?
Yes, all our cameras are fitted with night vision capabilities. Once the camera senses that the area is dark, night vision mode will be activated, helping users to be able to view the area even in complete darkness.

It's helpful to know about a CCTV system's camera coverage and what affects its range. My uncle wants to open a jewelry shop next month, and I think he'd benefit from installing a security system to keep his business monitored at all times, so I'll make sure that he reads your tips on CCTV systems. Thank you for the insight on understanding a security camera's lens size when choosing CCTV equipment.

Hi there!

I just wanted to drop by and leave a friendly comment about the IP camera kit. I recently purchased one and I am absolutely in love with it!

The kit came with everything I needed to set up the cameras and the installation process was super easy. I was able to connect all of the cameras to my home network and access the live footage from my phone or computer.

The video quality is amazing and I love that I can customize the settings to fit my specific needs. The motion detection feature is a game-changer and gives me peace of mind knowing that my home is always being monitored.

Overall, I highly recommend the IP camera kit to anyone who is looking for a reliable and easy-to-use home security system. It has truly exceeded my expectations and I feel so much safer knowing that my home is protected.
